Day Dreams and Ripped Jeans

Howdy lovelies!!
So this is my second outfit post from my mini-holiday but I was pretty apartment-bound as my foot really hurt and why I am standing funny in most of the photos.
Now, I would just like to take the time to appreciate these beautiful, beautiful jeans... I have a weak spot for jeans, I have seven pairs at the moment, (you need a pair for everyday right?) but these have got to be up there as one of my favs. They are vintage Levis that are supposed to be "Low and Super Skinny" as the label tells me but since they are a couple of sizes too big they are a baggy fit which is what I wanted because all my other jeans are skinny jeans... These jeans I am assuming originally had no rips in them but when I bought them sencond hand they were already distressed like this but I don't mind because that adds a story behind them and I really wanted ripped jeans and someone had already done it for me (yay!). So I bought them at a flea market for $5!!! I was stoked on life and legitimately wear them ALLLLLLL the time.
I am also wearing, a Harry Potter T-shirt from the 'teen boys' section of a thrift store, my jelly shoes, beautiful (and I mean beautiful) tartan socks from San Francisco (they were a presie and I lurrrrve them) and I am also wearing random aviators and a flower garland. Plus the belt I stole from my mother dearest because I completely forgot a belt and if I didn't wear a belt my pants would fall down and that wouldn't be very nice for anyone (and that's probably too much information I apologise for my weirdness due to lack of sleep) but I think the belt is gorgey and I didn't want to give it back at the end of the day.
Also as I am always hurting myself (completely accidentally) I have a really cool collection of band-aids (not used ones of course but I hoard boxes of cute band-aids ok I should stop typing because I'm just sounding more and more of a weirdo anyways, LOOK AT THIS CUTE MICKEY MOUSE LIMITED EDITION BAND-AID isn't it the bomb diggity??? Sorry, waaaaay too excited.

I still don't know how to pose... so my apologies for these really strange photos I hoped you liked them anyway...
Also, is planking still a thing? It's totally still a thing right, right????

Hahaha anywys that;s all for now. See you on the flip side

Excitement Plus

I'm too excited to wait until I post this later in the week so you get two posts in one night to anyone that actually reads this... How lucky are you?? hahaha just kidding...

So this is my first official OOTD (how exciting!??!!). In my very first post I expressed my love of the new t-shirt I had just purchased in size XL men’s. It is a graphic tee with the original cover over ‘Tales of the Jazz Age’ by F. Scott Fitzgerald printed on the front. This is the first time I had ever worn it and I knew that its size could have been a tad problematic. As a general rule I believe that if the top is loose wear more fitting bottoms and vice versa (not in all cases of course) So I paired it with a pair of high waisted buttoned shorts that are kinda ‘sailoresque’ in my opinion. The brand of these shorts are ‘Princess Highway’ which is a clothing brand full of cute vintage styled clothes that are all super cute. The brand is stocked in a shop called Dangerfield which is one of my fav shops.

The day was pretty low-key: going out for lunch and then having a look around the shops. In the local thrift store I found a few things that I really liked but for a second hand shop full of donated things I kinda thought it was a tad over-priced which was pretty sad because there were some things that I really liked. I couldn’t leave without a faded green, oversized jumper in the men’s section. It’s very super cute and I’ll show it in a OOTD soon… I also found these really pretty jeans but my mum told me not to buy them because I already have about seven pairs of jeans. (Yes, I am a shopaholic and get a bit excited_ but I wiiiiiissssshhh I’d bought them because they were so beautiful and I can’t stop thinking about them. (Yes, I dream about beautiful clothes while normal people dream about people and junk…)

Anyway, the day turned to worse when I went for a walk on the beach with my mum and as I was walking along the sand, out of the WHOLE beach, I managed to step on this really sharp thing under the sand. It was kind of like a shell-like thing with barbs on it and it got stuck a few mm into my foot and mum had to pull it out and it really, really hurt! It’s all bruised now and it’s difficult to walk but I'm getting better. It was a real bummer though because I couldn't do much for the rest of the mini holiday. Anyway here is what I wore: (I didn't have much space so it’s in the bedroom that I slept for the three nights…)

I'm a socks and sandals kind of gal... here's my jelly-shoe appreciation... aren't they perf??

I don't even know what I am doing or what my hair is doing for that matter but there you go...

Item Specifics:
Tales of the Jazz Age men's XL: 'Out of Print,' local bookstore
Shorts: 'Princess Highway,' Dangerfeild
Felt Hat: City Beach
Silver Glitter Jellies: City Beach
Socks: Present from San Francisco

So there you have it, my very first official outfit post. I hope you enjoyed it because I will be posting more soon!

Just Some Really Bad Quality Photos.

So it’s been about two weeks since my last post… So much for that regularity! To be honest I want the posts on this here blog to be more QUALITY over QUANTITY so I’m trying not to post just anything... I don’t know whether that’s just a lazy excuse so that I don’t have to post all the time but I promise if I had really cool and exciting stuff to post all the time I would! Sadly, this is not how the world works. I am frustratingly jealous of these bloggers that can bust out great post after great post every couple of days… I mean, I’m not complaining, I LUURRRVEEE reading them but, I’m still jealous…  I have school on the weekdays and then I rarely do stuff on the weekends worthy of posting about and if I do, I almost always forget to bring/charge my camera.

So last Friday was one of my friends 18th birthdays so I tried to organise a surprise party. It didn’t work out very well but it was fun anyway. From school me and two of my friends caught a bus to the shops and bought her one onesie (haha see what I did there?) and some mandatory crappy birthday gear such as streamers, costumes, balloons and stacks of lollies! We had time to spare so I was walking around the shops in a Mexican sombrero and a pair of glasses that had a moustache attached and of course we had to run into one of our teachers (twice)! She didn’t know how to react… Then for dinner we went to a Mexican restaurant ironically. It was a really cool place because there was a window where you could see into the kitchen so I stood at the window in my Mexican get-up until one of the cooks saw me and always fell-over (someone else not knowing how to react in my Mexican presence)… Haha So from there we caught the bus to my friend’s house whose birthday it was where someone was supposed to be there to let us in… of course they weren’t there. So we sat in the front yard in the dark blowing up balloons and wrapping each other up with streamers. We got a text from her boyfriend saying that it was a change of plans and she was getting taken home so we had to hide until he took her out again so we hid against the side fence where we were caught by the headlights! What great luck… Anyway we set up outside and then it started to rain! So we had to move back inside and when she came home the second time I think she was expecting it but oh well… All we ended up doing was play pool, eat and paint each other’s faces. I took some really crappy photos and I’ll insert them under here for the interested:

So much for QUALITY over QUANTITY but there you go anyway.
As for this weekend I went on a mini family vacation to the beach but since I have about four assignments due this week I’m sure you can guess what I was doing the whole time. Taking photos for this here blog of course! Well I did manage to work on my assignments but I took a lot of photos as well. I even managed to get some good outfit photos which I am actually pretty happy with so I will be posting them during the week instead of all at once so everyone get excited for those. (Not too excited though I don’t want you to get your hopes out!)

Haha that’s all for now. Hopefully I’ll post again soon…  Sorry for the heaps wordy post!

Australian Body Art Carnivale Day Two

Yet again I should be doing school work but my lack of enthusiasm towards the properties of a wave (GAHH physics!) combined with my love of procrastinating and commitment to make this blog kind-of not-sucking has brought me to another empty page of blog posting goodness. As I wrote about in my previous post, I attended the Body Art Carnivale this weekend which lasted for two days. While the first day brought the actual 'body art competitions' I was maybe a little more excited about day two as it brought wearable art and special effects to the wacky but wonderful table...

Today I brought out my inner teen witch vibes in my outfit and a little girl asked me if I was part of the festival...

As you have probably noticed, I'm a shocka when it come to posing infront of a camera and end up just looking like a crazy mofo and yes I am wearing purple tights. I'm unfortunate enough not to have actual purple legs... As for the rest of my outfit. My creepers are from ebay, my dress from a market. I am wearing a 'Bring Me the Horizon' shirt and if you know and like them I know we will be bestest friends forever... And finally my hat is from Sports Girl and I wear it ALL THE TIME because it is like a combination of a top hat AND a bowl hat. which is just super duper awesome and the creator is a brilliant genius and I love them! However in the sun it doesn't really work in the conventional way but who cares, it's super cute!!
My inner-witch senses are TINGLING!

As for the actual carnivale:

Call me crazy but I can totally see myself wearing this... It is made of dolls which is very creepy but kind-of cutesy too...

Made from Christmas ball-balls and tyres
 Shoe appreciation ^
I kind of really want the short tule skirt this model is wearing^ It goes with my witchy vibes...

This was made entirely from vacuum cleaners...

All of the wearable art was truly amazing and I really want to enter next year...

To finish the day (and the carnivale they had the 'Special Effects' competition:

Scarily enough, the thing sticking out of her stomach moved... O,o total recall anyone??

this skirt was made from balloons AND it lit up. I kind-of want to be an alien now plus CHECK OUT those amazeball pink eyelashes on her THREE eyes...
 Very Pro-Feminism (YAY GRRRRL power)

It was a very fun weekend and I hope you enjoyed the photos... Sorry if it is a bit of a spam but I took soooooooo many photos it was hard to choose my favourites...

It was a very weird and wonderful carnivale and I can't wait until next year and hopefully I will be more involved.... :)

Until next time lovely internet pals,

Stay Fabulous xx

Australian Body Art Carnivale Day One

This weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Australian Body Art Carnivale. By definition, body art is and artistic genre, originating in the 1970s in which the actual body of the artist or model is integral to the work. This was my third year of attending and it truly is amazing, this year the theme was dreams and nightmares so there were a lot of interesting entries. I took a lot of photo's so here goes but first, what I wore/bought...

This first picture is a necklace that I bought from these two really cool hitch-hikers. They have been hitch-hiking across the country selling their hand-made jewellery and had an all-round cool vibe with awesome style (damn it, should've taken a photo...) Anyway, I have been wanting a necklace like this for some time and I haven't taken it off since I bought it!!

 Isn't it gorgy mc gorgeous??
This is what I wore. I don't have a functioning tripod at the moment mine is being a drama queen and won't be nice so the photos are somewhat dodgy, also they are taken in my room with limited space/light...

It's getting colder here which excites me because it means sweater weather and my layering game is pretty strong. I love chucking multiple things I love on instead of having the limited choice that Summer brings... Both the purple and blue tops are crotchet and I got them from a market as well as the tye-dye shorts and the groovey bag. The shoes are Dr Martens and the denim jacket is from Topshop.

Back to the carnivale, Day One featured both Body Art Competitions 'Sponge and Brush' and 'Airbrush' and below are some pics:
I took these before the show when the models were getting painted. I wish I could paint like that...

And here are some of my fav pictures from during the show:

Below is my favourite entry based on the Day of the Dead celebration. The skeleton painting and the flowers along with the killer heels just made for some awesomeness overload and me craving a good Day of the Dead themed party like How Two Live had.

 (shoe appreciation)
focus is on the tent not the person.... ooops : /

And that's a wrap for Day 1. I will post Day 2 shortly. I hope if there is anyone reading/viewing this that you liked it. Please comment your favourite... :)

P.s HAPPY STARWARS DAY!! May the Forth be with you :)
